The Abraham Lincoln Institute Executive Committee

The Abraham Lincoln Institute Executive Committee consists of the primary officers of ALI who generously devote many hours to promoting professional quality, academic level Lincoln scholarship that is freely available to all who are interested. John Sellers is Historical Specialist, Civil War & Reconstruction, for the Library of Congress. Dr. Sellers is the curator of the Papers of Abraham Lincoln in the Library of Congress.

Lucas E. Morel, Vice President

Lucas Morel is Associate Professor of Politics at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, Lucas E. Morelwhere he teaches courses on American government, political philosophy, Black American politics, and Abraham Lincoln.

Donald R. Kennon, Treasurer

Donald Kennon has been Chief Historian of the U.S. Capitol Historical Society since 1987. Dr. Kennon's duties include directing the Capitol Historical Society’s symposia, publications, and educational outreach programs, and writing and lecturing about the history of Congress and the Capitol.

Clark Evans, General Secretary

Clark Evans is the Senior Reference Librarian in the Rare Book Reading Room at the Library of Congress, home of the Alfred Whital Stern Collection of Lincolniana.

In 2004, Mr. Evans completed 30 years of service with the Library of Congress.

Fred Martin serves as a designated Visiting Scholar at the University of California at Berkeley's Institute of Governmental Studies.
